The first undergraduate under transportation major was enrolled in 1965. It was the earliest undergraduate major in the country that systematically cultivated road transportation management talents. After nearly 60 years of construction and development, the transportation major has become a national first-class undergraduate major with a long history, rich resources, obvious characteristics, outstanding advantages, and significant social influence in Chang’an University. So far, more than 6000 undergraduates have been graduated from the transportation system.

     The transportation major is a national characteristic major developed by the Ministry of Education, the national first-class major construction point, the famous brand major in Shaanxi Province, and a first-class major in Shaanxi Province. Tt passed the national engineering education professional certification in 2008, 2014, and 2018 separately. It is the earliest and longest-lasting transportation major in China. In 2010, this major was included in the first batch of national outstanding engineer education and training programs. In 2012, the transportation professional (excellent engineer) training program was implemented and enrolled. The major was also selected as “985 Project of Engineering dominant discipline innovation platform” in 2012.  

     The transportation profession has a long history and profound background. As the country's first-class and advantageous profession, it has broad prospects for development in the context of “Strong Transportation” country. Under the great strategy of building a strong country in transportation, each link is inseparable from transportation professionals whom with a solid foundation, a strong sense of innovation, outstanding professionalism, and excellent overall quality. The development of Transportation will provide strong transportation training support for the realization of a strong transportation country, comprehensive construction of a socialist country, and realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
